Police Reports: Home invasion, deadly traffic accident

Overnight home invasion:

Police are investigating after a home invasion late Tuesday night at an elderly couple's home.

Investigators said the incident happened around 11:30pm in the 1800 block of Ezell.  When officers arrived at the scene, they were met by the victims, an 82-year-old woman and an 83-year-old man.  They told police three unknown black suspects broke out a rear window and entered their residence.

One suspect was armed with a handgun.

The suspects took an undetermined amount of money during the home invasion.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the incident to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-Cash.


One person dead in Tuesday traffic accident:

A traffic accident Tuesday afternoon at Thomas and Stage left one person dead and two others in critical condition.

Officials said a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old woman was traveling northbound on Thomas, exiting off the 305 ramp, when she lost control crossed into southbound traffic, striking a tractor-trailer head-on.

The woman was taken into to The MED in critical condition.  One passenger in her vehicle, a 6-year-old boy, was taken to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in critical condition.  A second passenger, a 32-year-old woman, was taken to The MED in critical condition, where she later died.

Charges have not yet been filed in the accident.


Police issue murder warrant:

Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Gerald Johnson, 57, for the shooting death of Sabrina Crawley, 37.  The incident happened on July 18, 2009, at 624 South Danny Thomas.
