MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - PaulStanley.org is the state senator's website. It's where there's no mention of an alleged sex scandal in the "news from Nashville" section.
But the self-described "evangelical Christian" was forced to talk about his relationship with a legislative intern during a court hearing this week, and the Action News 5 Investigators have the transcripts.
Here's a portion on an exchange between an attorney representing the man charged with extorting Stanley and the senator:
Attorney: "I assume you admit that you were involved in a relationship with Ms. Morrison?"
Stanley: "She worked in the (Legislative) Plaza, yes."
Stanley did not have to confirm if his relationship with intern McKensie Morrison was sexual in nature. But he did address her boyfriend's attempt to extort him using provocative photos of Morrison taken in Stanley's Nashville apartment.
Stanley: "I do not negotiate with criminals. That's kind of why we're here today. I did not offer to give him anything. He demanded."
A TBI agent who conducted the sting that eventually led to the arrest of Joel Watts testified the photos he used to extort Stanley featured Morrison with and without her clothing.
TBI Agent: "You could see in a couple of pictures..she did not have any clothes on. Other times you could see genitalia."
The agent said the TBI was contacted by the Senator after receiving text messages from Watts. The agent read several of the messages in court, including this one:
TBI Agent: "No hard feelings..just business..I hate being f****d over."
A Nashville judge bound over the case against Joel Watts to a grand jury. Senator Stanley has yet to comment on the investigation beyond a written statement.
