Grizzlies G.M. Likes Play of Point Guard in Summer League

The Memphis Grizzlies are still looking for players to fill out their roster..

Most notably at backup Point Guard.

Making a good case for that position is Marcus Williams..a former First Round Pick out of UConn.

Williams was solid as a rock running the Grizzlies Summer League squad..

Not flashy..just a get it done type player who averaged 12 points and more than 8 assists a game in leading the Grizz to a 5-0 record.

Memphis General Manager Chris Wallace wouldn't go so far as to say Williams has a job here in the fall..

But, he DID say Williams did everything they wanted him to do in taking care of business on the floor. Wallace says the Grizzlies would love to have a veteran in that backup role..but Williams play definitely opened their eyes to his abilities.

He'll get strong consideration for being brought in for training camp in October.
