MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - An executive with Planned Parenthood in Memphis called State Senator Paul Stanley a "hypocrite" in writing Thursday.

"He told us he didn't believe young people should have sex before marriage," wrote Joan Carr of the Memphis Planned Parenthood office.  "That his faith and church are important to him, and he wants to promote abstinence."

"Now I realize that when he said those things, he had already been sexing it up with an intern," Carr wrote.  "Hypocrite, anyone?"

In an interview Friday afternoon, we asked Carr if she regrets what she wrote.

"I stand behind what I said in the blog," Carr said.

Carr added she also stands behind her characterization of Paul Stanley's politics as it relates to Planned Parenthood.

"I feel that Senator Stanley's policies regarding sex education and reproductive health issues fail his constituents," said Carr.

She reiterated that Stanley's position as a "family values" pushing Republican does not jibe, in her opinion, with his admitted affair with a legislative intern.

"I feel for his family," said Carr.  "I feel for his wife."

And while she happens to live in Stanley's senate district, Carr had no opinion on whether he should resign.

Stanley did give up his chairmanship of a key senate committee this week.  He has yet to comment on his affair, the resulting extortion plot, or Planned Parenthood's criticism.
