COVINGTON, TN (WMC-TV) - Members of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club recently rode their motorcycles all around Tipton County to raise money for patients at St. Jude.

In order to participate in the run, riders had to pay ten dollars and donate a teddy bear.  The money went to St. Jude and the teddy bears all went to deputies at the Tipton County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies are able to use the bears to help comfort children affected by crime.

"I've seen one of these bears given out on an accident scene and had a little boy and girl and they were crying and upset, rightfully so, and giving them the bear made me feel good, easing their pain a little bit," said Tipton County Sheriff Pancho Chumley.

St. Jude is the national charity for the Southern Cruisers riding club.

Riders raised a little under $400 for St.  Jude from this year's ride.
