Collierville Junior Golfer Captures Optimist Championship Title

Jacob Choi of Collierville, Tenn., shot a 1-over 73 on Monday, which was more than enough to take first place in the boys 12-13 division of the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Choi's three-day total was 67-66-73-206, and he finished five strokes ahead of the competition. After the first round, Choi was tied for first place. He took sole possession of the lead after the second round and never looked back. Choi was tops in a playing field of 89 golfers from all over the world, and they competed on the Palmer course at PGA National.
Finishing in a tie for second were Daniel Santiago Rico of Bogota, Colombia, with 70-70-71-211 and Ignacio Marino of Rio Cuarto, Argentina, with 67-70-74-211.
