MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Memphis City Council Chairman Myron Lowery is now the city's interim mayor.
He met with Willie Herenton Thursday evening to tour the seventh floor of city hall and to discuss some unfinished business.
Herenton has said that he'd like his successor to tackle The Pyramid-Bass Pro deal and a plan for a new convention center.
The former mayor and the interim mayor also discussed the operations of the mayor's office and critical appointments - including open positions at city hall.
"Yesterday was yesterday -- I'm looking forward to the future," said Lowery. "I'm not looking backward -- I'm looking forward to bringing the success the city has achieved in the last several years even more so in the future."
Lowery's swearing-in ceremony has yet to be scheduled.
