MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Delegates for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference announced Monday they will participate in a series of non-violent demonstrations.

Officials with the SCLC, which is holding its convention in Memphis this week, said they will show support later this month for African American postal workers in Arkansas who claim they have been discriminated against.

Wednesday, the SCLC will march in Kennett, Missouri in response to charges of racism in that city.

"There is an issue in Kennett, Missouri where we've been called upon," the Rev. Dwight Montgomery said. "It's 80 miles outside Memphis, for an issue pertaining to racism and bigotry involving the Ku Klux Klan, and we along with the national SCLC Interim President Dr. Clay will be there in Kennett together."

In Memphis, SCLC support is being organized to help sanitation workers.

Monday, Montgomery said feuding between local and national SCLC leaders had been resolved.
