MARTIN, TN (WMC-TV) - Investigators with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation say the man who raped a woman in Cordova in June is also responsible for recent assaults in Martin, Tennessee.

The TBI and police are looking for a rapist who they believe attacked two women in Martin within weeks of each other, one as recently as Wednesday night.

Thursday, investigators released a sketch of their suspect - the same sketch that was released in the Cordova assault.  In that attack, the victim was raped at gunpoint inside her Cordova apartment, and the attacker left with her cell phone and credit cards.

Investigators believe the same masked suspect went to Martin and raped a woman on the morning of July 27, and a second woman Wednesday night.

Now, three victims have described the mask, and other distinguishing features.

"In both of these cases, as well as the case in Cordova I believe, the suspect is described as being approximately 6 feet tall," TBI spokesperson Kristin Helm said. "He's a very large man, weighing at least 250 pounds, maybe more, and has a fairly large belly.  The victims also talk about him having very distinguishing blue or green eyes."

The TBI is now working with investigators in Shelby County and in Martin to hopefully close in on what appears to be a serial rapist.
