MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A rapist wanted by the TBI and law enforcement all over the Mid-South may have struck again.

Investigators say the masked man wanted for raping a woman in Cordova and sexually assaulting two women in Martin, Tennessee is now responsible for attacking a fourth victim.

Shelby County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Steve Shular said the attack happened on August 5th at an apartment complex near Whitten and Macon Road.

"A man entered an apartment and sexually assaulted a woman - fondled her, sexually fondled her," Shular said.

Georgia Jacobs was on guard as she worked in her front yard Wednesday, after hearing the rape suspect may have struck near her home.

"I'd be very grateful, and it would make me feel better to know that somebody out here is watching out for us," she said.

Shular said investigators now have more clues that may be able to help them identify the suspect involved in the attacks.

"We do have a description of at least one person who saw the possible suspect after one of the events," he said. "We're hoping that's going to lead us now to a composite that'll be done by the TBI."

Meanwhile, authorities urged residents like Jacobs to be on alert and aware of their surroundings.

"Anything that hits you the wrong way about a person and what they may be doing - let that be a clear message to go ahead and call law enforcement," Shular said.

"I don't know what to do anymore than what we're doing," Jacobs said. "Just watch and be careful and keep your house locked up."
