Duke transfer Elliott Williams cleared for Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - One day after stripping Memphis of its record-breaking 38 win season, the NCAA scored one for the Tigers by granting Duke Transfer Elliot Williams immediate eligibility.
Williams, a former Prep All American at St. George's in Collierville, signed with Duke out of High School.
After spending the first half of last season as a substitute, Williams became a starter and helped lead the Blue Devils to the ACC Tournament Championship and to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
Hoping to receive a medical waiver, Williams transferred back home to Memphis to be close to his Mother, who is ill.

A 6'4" combo guard, Williams' average as a starter was almost 8 points and 4 rebounds, shooting 48% on a Duke team that finished 30 and 7.
