Cats euthanized after virus spreads through local shelter

BARTLETT, TN (WMC-TV) - Several cats had to be euthanized after a feline virus spread through a Mid-South animal shelter.

The Bartlett Animal Shelter said the virus is now believed to be under control.
In a statement, they wrote, "We have been assured by our vet that this virus does not affect dogs and was not precipitated by negligence on the part of the Bartlett Animal Shelter.  We regret this unfortunate incident and have taken all necessary steps to prevent a reoccurrence."
