Fayette Co. manufacturer slapped with huge fine for polluting

MOSCOW, TN (WMC-TV) - A Fayette County manufacturer has been hit with the largest air-pollution fine in Tennessee history.

The Stabilit America plant located less than 15 miles from Collierville in Moscow, failed to clean up its chemical emissions.

They've been ordered to pay $600,000 for the violations. The penalty is particularly stiff in that it must be entirely paid up-front.

Stabilit manufactures fiberglass-reinforced panels.
