Ronnie Grisanti & Sons says arrivederci

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A beloved Bluff City restaurant closed its doors forever Saturday evening.

For 31 years, Ronnie Grisanti's and Sons Italian Restaurant served authentic Tuscan cuisine in the heart of Memphis. The 70-year-old proprietor says it's time to pass on the torch.

Longtime patron Gabriel Deranzo ordered his favorite Lasagna al Forno.

"The first time I came here was my first Valentine's date 13 years ago. So it's been a long, fun time of enjoying Ronnie Grisanti's," he said.

Grisanti's son, Judd, owns Spindini, an upscale restaurant in Downtown's South Main District.

His other son plans to change the name of his Germantown restaurant, Elfo's, to Grisanti's.
