OLIVE BRANCH, MS (WMC-TV) - A Memphis man has been charged in a shooting that left one person was injured Monday morning in the parking lot of John Daly's Restaurant and Bar in Olive Branch.

Authorities said the victim, Malcom McGaughy, is the restaurant's kitchen manager.  He was struck three times, but was expected to fully recover.

From her spot a nearby gas station, Carolyn Dunlap and a customer hear the whole thing.

We heard a loud 'Bang, bang, bang' and I asked her, I said, 'Is that fireworks?' She said 'No, it sounded...like a gun going off.'" Dunlap said.

Dunlap said she heard the gunfire just outside the restaurant around 7:00 a.m.  Police said McGuaghy was just showing up for work when the shooting happened.

Late Monday afternoon, authorities charged Maurice Love of Memphis with the shooting.  Police believe the shooting was in retaliation for an altercation between the two at a party Saturday night.

Love is being held on $100,000 bond.

On Twitter, Daly wished McGaughy a fast recovery.

"Thoughts & Prayers for my kitchen mgr coming to wk this morning was shot 3 times in parking lot for an attempted robbery--he should be ok," Daly said on the website.
