MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Memphis police have made an arrest in a double shooting that left one person dead early Monday morning.
Police said the shootings happened Monday morning in the 800 block of Crockett. Witnesses said up to nine shots may have been fired.
"I don't know how many times he was actually shot, but we are looking into it at this time," said Major Mike Ryall of the Memphis Police Department.
Both victims were transported to The MED, where one of them later died. The other victim was listed in non-critical condition.
Police said the suspect in the shooting led officers on a chase that ended in a deli on Breedlove Street. Lille Reams was at home where she heard the commotion.
"I was in the house, and I came out because it was crashing so loud," she said.
Authorities said they aren't exactly sure what sparked the incident.
"There was an earlier shooting on Crockett around 2:45 this morning," Ryall said. "We do not know if the two are connected."
Police have not yet filed any charges in the incident.
