HORN LAKE, Miss. (WMC-TV) Horn Lake police continue to investigate the city's first homicide this year. Troney Johnson has been charged with murdering Wilma Johnson, his live-in girlfriend.

The body of 54-year-old Wilma Johnson was found Saturday evening on Conrail Circle by family members who hadn't seen the two in several days. Investigators say she died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The horrific crime has neighbors in disbelief as police investigate to try to determine why and how it happened.

Lieutenant Scott Evans of the Horn Lake Police Department said that he believes the crime is domestic violence related.

Neighbor Blair Little said that some community members were aware of past domestic disputes between the couple. "It was crazy. I've never head of anything like that. I've talked to a few of my neighbors - they've talked about the abuse they've seen, but I didn't know about any of it."

Authorities were able to locate Troney Johnson in Memphis because he was driving his wife's car.

Horn Lake police continue their investigation and hope more will be reavealed about the murder.  At this point, they are unsure whether Mr. Johnson acted alone or if others were involved.

Troney Johnson is in jail on one million dollars bond.
