MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) -  A 12-year-old girl who suffered from multiple underlying health conditions died Wednesday from the H1N1 virus, officials at Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center said Friday.

Mary Gwendolyn Terry is the third person in Shelby County to die from the virus.

Le Bonheur officials say over 5,000 patients have shown up at the hospital with flu-like symptoms since August 1.

Doctors there are now seeing roughly 350 children a day, almost double the number they normally see during the regular flu season.

The hospital has set up a tent outside the emergency room to help deal with the influx of patients.
