MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Memphis police are investigating whether there's a connection between the robbery of two Jewish fraternity brothers and a hate crime committed against their house.

The Zeta Beta Tau members were robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night near the University of Memphis campus. Suspects demanded the men hand over their wallets.

Fraternity members discovered Tuesday morning that their house had been vandalized with anit-Semitic graffiti.

The robbery occurred just two buildings away from the Midland Avenue home the fraternity rents.

Zeta Beta Tau member Zachary Roberts says the incidents have left him and his brothers on edge.

"It does kinda worry me a little bit about walking out here at night by myself," he said. "But they weren't even by themselves. They were in a group of two."

Police are patrolling the area while they continue to investigate.
