MILLINGTON, TN (WMC-TV) - A dozen suspected drug dealers were rounded up before dawn Thursday in Millington.

The operation came after Millington police made scores of undercover drug buys over the last several months.

22 officers hit the streets around 5:00 a.m. to serve more than 20 warrants.

"It sends a message to anyone who desires to come to Millington to break the law, sell drugs or do illegal activity - it's not gonna be tolerated," said Millington Police Chief Ray Douglas.

The city has seen its share of drug activity recently. Just last week, police shut down four suspected meth labs and raided an alleged crack house near an elementary school.

"We know we have a problem, but every community has a problem," said Douglas. "But it's how you address it, and we choose to address it and shut it down if at all possible."

The chief says Millington police will continue to surprise suspects and show them Millington won't tolerate drug activity.
