18-wheeler overturns in Memphis, killing driver

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - The driver of an 18-wheeler was killed Saturday afternoon after his truck overturned in a retention pond at East Shelby Drive and Pleasant Hill Road.

Police have identified him as Bobby Coats, 50.

They say Coats swerved off the roadway, struck a utility pole, and drove into a small pond, causing the truck to overturn.

Coats was transported in extremely critical condition to Delta Medical Center, where he later died.
