WEST MEMPHIS, ARK. (WMC-TV) - Lottery fever is sweeping the Natural State.

Tickets for Arkansas' new Powerball went on sale Saturday night. People across the state are penciling in their favorite numbers, hoping to strike it rich.

But the biggest winner may be Arkansas' education system. Officials are already projecting the lottery will bring in some $58 million.

Not everyone is pleased. Some citizens say they're opposed to gambling, while others say the lottery is a distraction that gives players false hope.

But while some complain about the lottery, others say it's benefiting so many, especially students.

Arkansas' first powerball drawing is set for Wednesday.
