MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A newly released 911 recording reveals a neighbor's desperate cry for help as she pleads for firefighters to rescue two fire victims.

In the tape, the frantic neighbor dials 911 in hopes of saving two small children's lives.

"It's 1236 (Effie). They can't get these kids on out of here," the caller cries.

On October 19, LaDareon Dunn, 3, and his brother Catereon, 2, were both trapped inside after fire broke out in their Effie Road duplex.  The two were left alone while their other ran errands.

It was a neighbor who picked up the phone and dialed 911 to make a desperate plea for help.

"I know you're just doing your job but these kids are in the house," the caller said as the operator asked questions about the fire. "It's smoking more and more!"

Authorities arrived to rescue the two small children, but it was too late. LaDareon died moments after arriving at the hospital while, Catereon lost his life several days later in the intensive care unit.

Meanwhile, fire investigators say there's still no determination on the cause or origin of the blaze, and so far, no charges have been filed against the children's mother.

The District Attorney's Office says its investigation is close to being complete.  The case is expected to be handed over to a grand jury.
