MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Police have charged a Memphis mother with torturing her boyfriend and threatening to do the same to her own children.

Margarita Perez, 19, is charged with attempted second degree murder and especially aggravated kidnapping.  Investigators say she beat her disabled boyfriend with an electrical cord this past weekend before tying him up inside their apartment on Poplar Avenue.

Police say she then forced him into a bathtub filled with scalding hot water, which resulted in burns all over his body.  The boyfriend only called police after Perez allegedly threatened to do the same thing to their two daughters, both of whom are under two years of age.

Police say Perez admitted to torturing her boyfriend and threatening to hurt the children when they arrested her Monday morning.

Meanwhile, her boyfriend was treated for his burns at The MED.

Tuesday, Perez was being held on $250,000 bond. The Department of Children Services is investigating as well.
