NCAA Ruling on Tigers Appeal Still a Mystery

The NCAA is Defending the secrecy of its response to the University of Memphis appeal , saying member schools require confidentiality before a ruling.

The U of M has received a response to its' appeal of a ruling wiping out the 2007-08 men's basketball season, but has refused to release it despite an open records request.

The University cites NCAA rules prohibiting printing documents for media off the association's Web site.

A NCAA spokeswoman told The Associated Press today the private organization uses a secure site that does NOT allow members to print, save, or download information to "maintain the integrity of the enforcement process."

If the ruling stands, the Tigers are forced to Vacate a record 38 wins that season, plus more than $600 Thousand Dollars in NCAA Tournament money.
