Rash of Car Thefts

A rash of car thefts have Memphis Police and at least one campus security team on alert. The head of Christian Brother's University Security, former homocide squad commander Mike Bonham, says the border areas near the Midtown campus have become hot spots for car theft. "There's been 19 car thefts in the area in the last 30 days. We've met with the Memphis Police Department and the local precinct and we're working together with them." says Bonham.

Security officers patrol campus and the already impressive network of cameras will double by summer.

Bonham calls CBU an oasis because of the low on campus crime rate, thanks to efforts to do what the university does best: educate. The CBU website provides students, faculty, and staff and anyone on-line tips on being street smart and staying safe.
