MUNFORD, TN (WMC-TV) - One Mid-South church is serving up java with a jolt of Jesus.

Millions of Americans start their day with a cup of coffee, but for members of Munford Methodist Church, the coffee comes with a spoonful of faith.

Once a week, the church offers Tipton County residents free coffee served with a curbside prayer. And Residents are lining up for this new outreach.

"All the moms in the morning load their kids up and come through, get coffee and calm their nerves," said Muford resident Sandi Huddleston.

Church members Michael and Connie Frazier started the ministry several weeks ago.

"We had a man that was waiting across the street at the bank, and he waited for us to bring the coffee tray out, drove across the street, and come to find out he just was looking for a church home," said Frazier.

She says sometimes people pass on the cofee and go right for the prayer.

Pastor Joe Moseley said everyone is welcome.

"We want to reach anybody who needs prayer. It's not just a Methodist thing, it's a God thing," he said. "Giving them a little love through a cup of coffee and compassion."

Volunteers staff the Munford Methodist Church parking lot every Tuesday morning.
The coffee and prayer ministry runs from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
