SOUTHAVEN, MS (WMC-TV) - Southaven Police are looking for two teens who robbed a woman at gunpoint at the Rocky Creek apartments Tuesday evening.

Southaven Police Chief Tom Long said the victim had just returned home from Walmart with her eight-year-old son when she was approached.

"The first subject pointed a weapon at her and demanded money," Long said. "She gave him her wallet and they pretty much fled on foot."
According to Long, the male who was armed was wearing a dark bandana, sunglasses and a hooded sweatshirt. The second male was short, perhaps no more than 12-years-old.

The husband of the victim, who was too afraid to go on camera while the suspects were still at large, said he was alerted to what happened by his son.

"As soon as he run inside the house he tells me, 'Father come out and help me, because somebody pulled a gun,'" the victim's husband said. "And I grabbed the knife and just run out."

The victim's family lived at the complex for less than two months, and until now they've had no problems.

The victim's husband was very surprised that someone would harm a woman, especially with a child.

"Not with an eight-year old kid with them," he said. "This is something different."

Long said no shots were fired during the incident, and no suspects have been captured. Anyone with information is asked to contact Southaven police at 662-393-8652.
