MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Kickoff is still a day away, but Arkansas and East Carolina fans are already pumped for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.  And as they visit, those fans are doing a lot for the local economy.

For the past several days, the Main Street trolley has become a convenient way for fans of the teams to get around.

"I love Memphis," East Carolina fan George Cadwell said. "We came last year and went to the party down on Beale Street. Of course, last night we went and saw the to the guitar slide down, and tonight we are going to go back for the parade."

It seems like everywhere you look you can see football fans as they stay at area hotels, shop at area stores, and eat at area restaurants.

"I've got to say the ribs are the best here in Memphis," Cadwell said.

The massive spending of tourist dollars couldn't come to Memphis at a better time. Business owners say by the time the teams in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl take the field on Saturday, tourists like George Cadwell will have spent thousands of dollars.

"I don't know what the city will take in, but I know what we put out to get here and what were spending here, and I suppose for the five of us it will be around four to five thousand dollars," Cadwell said.

Cadwell added that he and many other fans are already hoping they get the chance to come back to Memphis for the next Liberty Bowl.
