Tax appraiser arrested, accused of selling drugs

JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - An appraiser with the Madison County Tax Assessor's office is accused of selling drugs out of her government-issued car during office hours.

Twenty-five-year-old Ashley Coleman and her husband, 26-year-old Troy Coleman, were arrested Tuesday after being indicted on three charges of sale and delivery of a schedule II controlled substance.

A news release from the Jackson-Madison County Metro Narcotics Unit said a search of the Colemans' home turned up marijuana, Xanax, Oxycontin and drug paraphernalia.

Capt. Barry Michael told The Jackson Sun the Colemans made sales to undercover agents on three different occasions.

The Jackson Sun reports the couple was being held in jail Wednesday awaiting arraignment.
