MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A Memphis Police Department recruit has been arrested for having sex with a teenager and charged with statutory rape, officials said Wednesday.

A Memphis Police Department spokesperson said Gregory Marshall, 26, started a 21-week basic training stint on October 12, 2009.  Now, he's in jail on $10,000 bond.

According to the affidavit of complaint, a 17-year-old girl claimed she had sex with Marshall on three separate occasions.

The complaint says Marshall allegedly, "attempted to entice her into making a sex tape with him," and showed her, "several home made videos of him having sex with other females."

The 17-year-old, "refused to be video taped."  After she came forward, police searched Marshall's house, where they found, "several home made sexual video tapes," including one showing he and the victim having sex.

According to the arrest warrant, Marshall told police, "he did in fact make a video of himself and victim having sex, and that the victim did not know that she was being video taped at the time the tape was made."

Marshall's employment as a recruit with the Memphis Police Department has been terminated.  Meanwhile, investigators are still trying to determine if the other women in the tapes knew they were being recorded, and if they are minors.

A Memphis Police Department spokesperson declined an on-camera interview Wednesday for this story.
