Four teens arrested in Olive Branch burglary spree

OLIVE BRANCH, MS (WMC-TV) - Four suspects have been arrested in connection with a burglary spree in Olive Branch.

The suspects, which include two 15-year-olds, a 16-year-old, and a 17-year-old, are were arrested after a series of burglaries that involved three homes.

Major Tim Presley of the Olive Branch Police Department said the burglars netted quite a bit of merchandise, much of which was recovered.

"We developed some leads as to the scope of teens that ran around together," Presley said. "So far we have charged four teens and seeking another teen from Memphis."

Samuel Martin, III, 17, is charged as an adult with Burglary of a Dwelling. Police found a laptop and desktop computers, an iPod, televisions and two guitars from the homes on Blocker Street, Yates Drive and Superior Cove.  

Presley said one of the stolen items even wound up on Craigslist.

"One of the teens had went on Craigslist and listed a HP computer and sold it for $300 dollars, and a gentleman bought it from Arlington," he said.

Police are still searching for a fifth suspect.

According to Presley, community policing and increased neighborhood watch has paid dividends in Olive Branch, and people are now watching out for each other even more.

One resident said it's important to pay attention.

"You can't be stupid and not realize crime is everywhere," the resident said. "You just have to take precautions, and I feel like we do kind of watch out for each other."
