Memphis man accused of killing soldier claims terror ties

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - The New York Times is reporting a Memphis man accused of killing a solider outside a military recruiting station in Little Rock now claims he was working with an affiliate of Al-Qaeda based in Yemen.

Abdul-Hakim Muhammad called himself a soldier for Al-Qaeda and says the shooting was a "Jihadi Attack."

Muhammad, a Muslim convert, said he spent 16 months in Yemen starting in the fall of 2007.
