MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - The icy conditions in the Mid-South have been especially hard on airline passengers.

Many travelers at the Memphis International Airport got caught in the weekend's cancellations and delays.

Eddie Lee showed up Sunday morning at the Memphis International Airport ready to go.

"So I'm leaving out today," Less said, "heading to Wisconsin."

Lee tried to leave Saturday but the shuttle that was supposed to take her to Little Rock for a flight connection got trapped along I-40.

"We only made it outside of West Memphis and we couldn't go any further," Lee said.

Basketball players from White Station High School said they got stuck in New Jersey attempting to fly back from a tournament.

"It snowed Friday and that canceled our flight until Saturday morning," Andree Hollins of White Station High said.

By Sunday morning, air travel was returning back to normal as passengers caught in this weekend's canceled flights began moving again.

Some passengers said they did not mind the delay, saying it gave them the chance to know Memphis a little better.

Ice prevented Tonya Cedars' group of government workers from flying back to North Carolina.  They passed the time exploring the Bluff City.

"We stayed at The Peabody," Cedars said.  "If you've got to be stuck in Memphis, The Peabody is a great place to be stuck.  We were able to walk around downtown some and we went to a Grizzlies game and enjoyed Beale Street, so we absolutely made the most of our time."
