SOUTHAVEN, MS (WMC-TV) - People in Southaven say Monday's snow was the biggest they've seen in a number of years. Many families made the most of their snow day.

Trey Ramsey and Blake Grantham, both 12, played in the snow until they were soaking wet and chilled to the bone.

We caught up with them later when they were all warm and dried out, enjoying the second best part of a snow games.

It wasn't all fun and games they practiced some vocabulary words too.

"My snow day was pretty rigorous," Trey Ramsey said.

Well, that's actually just an inside family joke, which brings us to another great part of a snow time right?

"Played on my laptop, Facebook," Morgan Rosenthal, 15, said.

"Didn't get to do anything, pretty cool," Erik Rosenthal, 17, said.

Okay, well, no one actually admitted to enjoying family time, but we know they did. Snow day for mom, it was more work than play.

"Was able to get doctors appoints in," Beth Ramsey said. "We got bread and milk and cereal."

Now the Ramsey family, is waiting to find out what's in store for Tuesday. Superintendent, if you're listening, here is a poll.

"I like snow, but I want to go to school because I don't want to have to make it up," Heidi Ramsey 15 said.

Three other kids voted, "snow day!"

The results were overwhelming. Our unscientific poll shows three out of four kids favor a snow day.

Monday was already DeSoto County School's forth snow day, which means there will be some making up to do.
