HERNANDO, MS (WMC-TV) - Students in DeSoto County will be required to pay back one of their recent snow days on a Saturday next month.
Teachers have selected Saturday, March 6 as a make-up day for one of the days missed due to recent snowfall, officials said Tuesday. This will be a 60 percent day, replacing the 60 percent day that was scheduled at the end of the school year.
Individual schools in the district were given a series of days to choose from to make up the day, with the majority choosing March 6. The DeSoto County School Board approved the decision.
The Board also approved March 27 as an additional make-up day to be used if additional school days are canceled this school year.
DeSoto County Schools have already canceled one holiday - Presidents Day - which was used as a make up day.
