Tunica apartment fire displaces several families

TUNICA, MS (WMC-TV) - An apartment fire in Tunica, Mississippi displaced several families Wednesday night.

A portion of the Kirby Estates apartments containing eight units caught fire.

The families that occupied those units will be displaced for at least Wednesday night because the power was pulled.

Two injuries have been reported involving smoke inhalation.  One person was transported to the hospital by ambulance and the other victim by the Hospital Wing.

Tunica Fire Department, Sheriff's Department, and Tunica Volunteer Fire are on the scene.  The Memphis Red Cross is on the way to Tunica to assist the families.
