Area Teams Compete in State Championship Games

St. Georges glides by University School of Nashville 56-41 to take the Division 2-A boys state title.

Senior Asa Toney had 17 points, including 12 in the second half to help lead the Gryphons to the title...

It's St. Georges' first title in just five years of varsity competition.

And in girls Division 2-A, it's Harding Academy rallying for a 52-43 win over Franklin Road Academy.

Kaylah Keys had 22 points and Alex Black had 19pts.

It's the Lady Lions first TSSAA title in girls basketball...

The news is not so good in Division 2-2-A... Briarcrest falls to Ensworth 57-to-40.

Amy Metcalf put in 15 for the Lady Saints, who finish their season with a 23-6 record.

Bad news for the boys as well...CBHS falls to MBA 53-47.

Chris Bunkley had 11 points in the brothers loss.

Christian Brothers finishes up 26-and-5 on the season.

And in Mississippi...Congrats to the Horn Lake Lady Eagles, they take the Girls 6-A State crown, 40-28 over Greenville Weston...

It's Horn Lake's first ever state title in girls basketball.
