Lady Vols Get #1 Seed in Memphis Regional

Memphis will host the NCAA Women's Regionals later this month at FedExForum, and the Tennessee Lady Vols could be a part of it.The Lady Vols earned the Number One seed in the Memphis Region as announced on Monday night's Women's NCAA Selection Show.

It's the 20th time the program has earned a No. 1 seed.

UT is 29-and-2 on the year, and won the S.E.C. Regular Season and Tournament titles.

The Lady Vols will open NCAA play against 13 seed Austin Peay Saturday on Tennessee's home court in Knoxville.

The Governors, at 15-17, are the 8th team in tournament history to make the big dance with a losing record.

Also in the Memphis regional are: No. 2 Duke, No. 3 West Virginia, No. 4 Baylor, No. 5 Georgetown, No. 6 Texas and No. 7 LSU. Tennessee beat Baylor, Texas and LSU during the regular season.

Mississippi State's Women make the NCAA Tournament field.

The Lady Bulldogs, a 7-seed, are in the Dayton Regional...

They'll play 10-seed Middle Tennessee State which has made 6 of the last 7 Tournaments..

The Lady Blue Raiders feature former Tennessee Gatorade High School player of the year Aysha Clark.

She is the Leading scorer in NCAA Division 1.
