MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Two people are behind bars after police attempting to serve a warrant found their young children home alone in an apartment full of drugs.

Roger and Victoria Williams, who live in at the Bella Vista Apartments in Memphis, face a long list of criminal charges.

Thursday night, when officers showed up with a warrant to search their apartment, police found Roger Williams outside in the parking lot.  They arrested him, and then started their search.

Inside the apartment, detectives found three types of drugs in amounts large enough to package for sale, including marijuana, cocaine, and prescription cough syrup.  Drugs were found in a closet, in a trash can, and stuffed in a couch.

According to the affidavit of complaint, detectives found three small children unattended in a front living room.  While the police were still on scene, their mother, Victoria Williams, came home, and was also arrested.

In addition to the drug charges, Roger and Victoria Williams were charged with child abuse and neglect for leaving the children alone.

Victoria Williams has posted $3,000 bond.  Roger Williams is still in jail.

Both are due in court Monday morning.
