NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - North Little Rock police say they know the second man involved in the Christmas Eve slaying of a Salvation Army major who was killed in front of his three young children. But the suspect is dead.
Police said Monday that they have enough information to charge 20-year-old Brandon Leavy with capitol murder for the March 16 killing of Philip Wise. Already charged is 19-year-old Laquan Javaris Fitzpatrick, who was arrested earlier this month.
Investigators say Leavy was killed two weeks ago during an attempted robbery. Police say Leavy was shot dead by a security guard at a convenience store on East Broadway.
Wise was gunned down after dropping off two bell ringers on the last day of the organization's fundraising campaign.
