Frayser man shot and killed possibly linked to domestic dispute

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A man was shot and killed Thursday inside his Frayser home.

There are still many questions in the case, and the shooting may be linked to a domestic dispute between a husband and wife.

Disputes between a husband and wife living in a home on Balfour Street were common knowledge among neighbors.

"It wasn't a secret," said neighbor Karen Jones.  "They did argue all the time but I didn't think it would come to this."

Police said they received a domestic shooting call Thursday afternoon.  When they arrived, a man inside the house had been shot to death.

Police said they took a suspect into custody from the house but have not confirmed whether the person they are questioning is the victim's wife.

Two young children also living at the home often played with the other children in the neighborhood.  Those families are concerned that the woman living in the house may have shot her husband.

A woman, who asked not to be identified, said she had a run in with the man of the house last year when he showed up at her front door.

"Telling me that he didn't want my son at his house hollering and screaming and carrying on," she said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.  No charges had been filed as of Thursday night.
