MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Two Memphis men, including an employee at Crime Stoppers, are accused of trying to help an alleged murderer stay on the loose.

The pair are accused of helping a suspect wanted for killing a man last January outside Luster's Sundry.  It was there, police say, that Cleo Henderson got into an argument with Reuben Jefferson.

During the argument, Henderson allegedly shot Jefferson in the face, killing him.  He remained at large until Wednesday night, when an anonymous tipster called Crime Stoppers to report his location.

That call was taken by Travis Williams, a civilian working in the Memphis Crime Stoppers office.  After taking the call, Williams is accused of notifying Henderson that police knew his location.

Friday, investigators said Travis Williams did not call Cleo Henderson directly,  Rather, he called a relative, Terry Williams, who passed the message along to Henderson.

Travis Williams was arrested Wednesday night, charged with accessory after the fact.  He made his initial appearance in court Friday.  Terry Williams, meanwhile, is also charged with accessory after the fact, and was in jail Friday on $10,000 bond.

In the end, the help with evading police that Henderson received from Travis and Terry Williams was for nothing. After the publicity surrounding the story and the tip to Crime Stoppers, Henderson turned himself in to authorities.
