MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - While investigating a burglary call, Memphis police discovered an active meth lab late Monday night.

Just before midnight, officers responded to a burglary call in the 6900 block of Country Manor Drive at the Countryside Apartments.

There, a security guard told police he saw two men stealing a washer & dryer from one of the apartments.

Police took the two men into custody, and then went into the apartment, where they discovered a working meth lab.
Officers evacuated some of the surrounding apartments as a precaution.

The Memphis Fire Department, as well as the Organized Crime Unit, responded to the scene.

Police have not yet determined if anyone is currently living inside the apartment where the meth lab was found.  However, one of the two burglary suspects did live in the apartment at one time.
