Car crashes into MPD's Union Avenue station

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A car slammed through the front door of the Memphis Police Department's Union Avenue precinct late Friday night.
 
Just after 10:00 p.m., 36-year-old Stephanie Vester ran her Mitsubishi into the front lobby area.  She then put the car in reverse and accelerated again into the station's front lobby in an attempt to run over two officers.

The damage to the building and a copy machine inside the precinct is estimated to cost $15,000 to repair.
 
Police have not said why the woman crashed her car into the building.

No injuries were reported.
