WATSON, MS (WMC-TV) - Ed's Pawn Shop in rural Watson, Mississippi remained closed Friday as Marshall County deputies and the ATF investigated an overnight burglary.  A gun case was cleaned out.

"Approximately 15 to 20 handguns were taken," said Major Kelly McMillen with the sheriff's office.  "Berettas, Glocks, Smith & Wessons."

He feared those weapons might fall into the wrong hands.

"We need to get these guns and the person responsible off the street as soon as possible," said McMillen.

Investigators told us the burglar broke a big light so a surveillance camera could not see him.  He then used a hacksaw to remove a heavy lock from a side door before cutting a wire that would have triggered an alarm.

"I would say this is probably not his first incident," said Major McMillen.

The surveillance camera at the pawn shop did not capture the burglar.  But one at a gas station across the street did.

He was spotted behind the wheel of an older Chevy pick-up truck with rust damage.

"I've heard recently there have been burglaries around here," said neighbor Amy Sorg.  "But they've been in people's houses."

Call 1-800-ATF GUNS or the Marshall County Sheriff's Office with any information about the burglary.  The owner of Ed's Pawn Shop is offering a $1,000 reward.
