MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Two weeks after record rainfalls flooded parts of the Mid-South, another round of severe weather moved through the area Friday.

The storms hit Shelby County with hail, dropped several inches of rain on Memphis streets, and lightning caused a transformer to catch fire.

Torrential rain and hail made caused trees to blow, creating what looked like a monsoon at an apartment complex in Walls, Mississippi.

At a flooded parking lot at Schnuck's in Whitehaven, Patricia Hargrove was shocked to find her car nearly covered in water.

"I don't know how I'm going to get to it," Hargrove said.

Schnuck's employees Troy and David came to Hargrove's rescue.  They carried her groceries as she waded through water.  All three were soaked, but Hargrove's car started and she was able to leave.

On Southern Avenue, motorists were forced to stop at a flooded part of the road.  Some turned around while others drove through the water.

Drains in the area appeared to be working properly.
