MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Two women are possible suspects in a deadly Saturday afternoon shooting.

Police said the shooting happened in the backyard of a house on Walker Street around 1:30 Saturday afternoon.  Dozens of family and friends came out to the scene shortly after it happened.

Family members said the victim was 33-year-old Rico Dotson.  Although police have not released the name of the victim, they said he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Friends and family members said they had no idea who would want to kill Dotson.

"I miss him so much," said Lequica Murrell, the victim's niece.

"I'm very hurt, it's very said," said Tamika Shelton, a friend of the victim, "because Rico was a very good person and liked by a lot of people."

Family members said Dotson did not live at the house and did not know why he was there.

"I don't know anything about what happened," Murrell said.  "I just know they told us to come over here, he was laying behind the house."

Police initially said they were looking for two women who were seen leaving in a Chevrolet Tahoe.  However, they said they have received a lot of phone calls with conflicting information and are not sure exactly how many people they are looking for.

Shandra Porter said she grew up with Dotson.

"His nickname was 'everywhere'," Porter said, "and they used to call him that because he would be everywhere.  He wasn't no bad guy like everybody said he was for him to go down like that."

Police asked that if you know anything that could help solve this homicide, call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
