MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Memphis police are searching for two suspects wanted for a deadly weekend shooting.

Police said the shooting happened Saturday afternoon, near James Street and Walker Avenue in South Memphis.  Witness Clarence Sykes was working at his auto parts and repair shop when he, another employee, and a customer heard the shooting and ran for safety.

"People was running," Sykes said. "Some guy was sitting here at the door, and he lost his shoe trying to get inside."

Sykes said the shooting was startling.

"I started out the back door," he said. "Didn't know which way to run or which way to go."

Family members said us the victim was Rico Dotson, 33.  However, the shooting occurred far from Dotson's home, and family members are not sure why he was there.

"I've heard about shootings going on, but nothing like this," Sykes said. "This was a first."

Monday, a Memphis police spokesperson said the shooting was still under investigation, and officers were still looking for two men they believe are responsible.  Investigators believe an ongoing argument led to the shooting.

Sykes simply hoped the suspects would be arrested quickly.

"Somebody got to pay for it," he said. "Justice got to be served. We can't just run around and start shooting and killing and nothing be done about it."

Police are looking for two men who left in a black Chevrolet Tahoe.  If you know anything that can help investigators, call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
