MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Two people were shot Wednesday morning at the Eden Point Apartments, located near Danville and Knight-Arnold.

Police were notified about the shooting around 9:45 a.m. in the 3200 block of West Danville Circle.

After the shots were fired, apartment resident Erika Doss she wasted no time reacting.

"I heard 4 or 5 shots," she said. "I ran to the door and saw a lot of folks running. They were like, 'Call the police!'"

Doss grabbed her cell phone and dialed 9-1-1.

"One of the guys who got shot had run to my neighbors door downstairs," she said. "They used my phone and police came."

Police say the suspects entered the apartment and fired several times.

"We got one shot in the leg; one in the upper torso," Major Tracy Gossett said. "Both did receive multiple gunshot wounds."

Both victims were transported to the hospital in critical condition, where they are expected to recover.

Neighbors watched as officers sifted through evidence in search of clues.  Meanwhile, investigators haven't released any details about possible suspects or a motive.

"We've got no vehicle information right now," Gossett said. "All we know is the suspects left on foot."
